Coach Ted Lasso

"For me, success is not about the wins and losses. It’s about helping these young fellas be the best versions of themselves, on and off the field. And it ain't always easy. But neither is growing up without someone believing in you."

POWERS:

He's immortal and doesn't age. He can travel and exist as an incorporeal spirit, crossing distances in seconds.

He prefers to exist as a corporeal being. He can't die from illness, starvation or cold, but his body can be injured and destroyed, at which point it would take him time to return. In corporeal form, his body still functions as normal, and he can get hungry, sick, tired, etc.

He has a supernatural sense for people's essence - he's not an empath or telepathic, but he can get a sense for their driving forces and major elements. Things like whether they try to be good people, or whether they're struggling with something - and he can sense love and affection.

He can also get vague feelings about people's futures. More of an intuition in how to guide them along their best path.

While incorporeal, those who know him might come to notice and recognise his presence. He can very gently manipulate people - just plant an idea in their head, or give them a nudge in the right direction, not much more.

POST-DEATH HISTORY:

When he died, he woke up as a spirit. He had a guide and mentor for a few years, though they were fairly hands-off when it came to actual guidance.

He's looked after his family from afar. Though he looks the same, they would be unable to recognise him. And contacting them directly or being part of their lives can lead to unforeseen consequences - and his intuition tells him not to get too close. He's skirted the line a few times, missing being part of their lives.

Over the years, he grew more accustomed to not quite being part of the world - or rather, always being a temporary part of people's lives.

What keeps him going is seeing the positive effect he can have on the world. How many people he can be there for during difficult times, and help in becoming their best selves.
